“International Team of Technicians and Experts”

International Team of Civil and Military Experts and Technicians in Elimination and Restructuring of Nuclear Weapons

Framework:

The “International Team of Technicians and Experts” will work within the frame of the International Forum for the Nuclear World Disarmament (IFNWD) whose interest is to appeal to the society from universities and investigation centres warning on the danger represented by nuclear weapons and on its consequences in politics, in the economy and in the international relationships.

A greater danger can be added to the well-known threats of these weapons. Nuclear weapons are about to become not only dissuasive elements in conflicts but also real weapons to use at the governments own will. The biggest World Powers are considering this possibility nowadays. If this possibility turns into reality, we’ll face an unimaginable worldwide catastrophe.

Objectives of the “International Team of Technicians and Experts”:

To study, to interchange and to discuss on:
- The dangers of the atomic weapons.
- Position of the countries with regard to the proliferation and against the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
- Plans for deactivation, storage, transport and elimination of the nuclear arsenal.
- Mechanisms of destruction, with safety guarantees, of the nuclear arsenal.
- Possibilities of reconversion for civil uses
- Civil society and nuclear weapons
- Illegal trade of nuclear material.

Participants:

Researchers, technicians and experts in nuclear armament. The ideal is the participation of at least one civilian and one military per country, interested in the objectives of the team.

The work of this international team will be coordinated by “World without wars” and the “Instituto Universitario General Gutiérrez Mellado de Investigación sobre Paz, Seguridad y Defensa” (Universitary Institute of Investigation on Peace, Security and Defense “General Gutiérrez Mellado”) of Spain.
